Camelot and Van Wijnen Transform Building De Hogekamp with Energy-Efficient Accommodation Plan
As part of the University of Twente's ambition for internationalisation and the growth in (international) student mobility, the plans by Camelot Real Estate and Van Wijnen Project Development East B.V. to transform the former faculty building for Electrical Engineering and Technical Physics on the University of Twente campus into a new modern energy-efficient building have been realised.
In this project, a short-stay facility has been established, distinguished from the existing stock on the UT campus by energy-efficient, fully equipped, and furnished self-contained studios, along with additional services in common areas. At the end of the building, separated from the 445 student rooms, is the Drienerburght Conference Hotel with 72 hotel rooms and approximately 1,000 m² of conference space. The hotel will feature a renewed concept that meets the needs of the UT and the region.

Loohuis Meulenbeld has been commissioned for all electrical installations in the 9-storey building.
Resotech has received the assignment from Loohuis Meulenbeld for the engineering, supply, and installation of an energy distribution system from the distributor (in the basement) to the branch boxes on the floors near the rooms. This has been realised with a flexible IP55 busbar system that is particularly suitable for the circular economy (reused).
